CENTRAL MCDOUGALL

Central McDougall is mostly a residential community located north of the downtown core, and by the 1950s most of Central McDougall was developed. However by the 1960s the community was being redeveloped into low rise apartments and commercial buildings. Today close to 90% of all dwellings are apartments greater than 5 storeys with nine out of every ten people renting, which makes this community highly mobile.

Central McDougall was named after John Alexander McDougall, an early Edmonton businessman and city mayor.

The geographical boundaries of this community are:

  • NORTH: 111 AVE
  • SOUTH: 105 AVE
  • EAST: 101 ST
  • WEST: 109 ST

City Councillor: Jane Batty
