Ambleside’s History

The name Ambleside comes from an English town that was named after an old norse word that translated to “river - sandbank - summer pasture”. Ambleside’s population took a 839% jump from 2009-2012 when 248 turned into 2,328 -- a sign of the neighbourhood truly coming to life. The original Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP) included plans for easily accessible retail centres, well distributed multi-use trails, and traffic calming measures.
