Ambleside’s History
The name Ambleside comes from an English town that was named after an old norse word that translated to “river - sandbank - summer pasture”. Ambleside’s population took a 839% jump from 2009-2012 when 248 turned into 2,328 -- a sign of the neighbourhood truly coming to life. The original Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP) included plans for easily accessible retail centres, well distributed multi-use trails, and traffic calming measures.
Ambleside Today
The Currents of Windermere, a one stop shopping area with restaurants, medical professionals, and department stores, is located in the northern section of Ambleside. It brings people in from all of the neighbouring communities to do their shopping, and the Cineplex VIP Theatre is located here as well so your date nights can go up a notch.
The streets in this neighbourhood were planned with safety and aesthetics in mind. With beautiful parks all connected by walking paths and the nearby Jagare Ridge Golf Club, your craving for the outdoors will be satisfied. Don’t miss out on the homes available in Ambleside, check them out today!
