Eastwood’s History
Eastwood’s subdivision began in 1906 when it was a part of the Village of North Edmonton. It was then amalgamated with Edmonton in 1912. Development slowed until the 1950s when more of the original developments were completed. The last few decades have seen redevelopment leading to a larger amount of low rise apartments.
Eastwood Today
There are a couple of small green spaces in the area, including the James Kidney Park. With the 118 Avenue boundary come a plethora of arts centres, fun coffee shops, and unique stores. Eastwood is also adjacent to Edmonton Northlands and Expo Center, home of K-Days, Edmonton’s favourite exhibition event.
