The neighbourhood was named after one of Edmonton’s early land surveyors, Robert Lendrum. The long-gone Lendrum Slough was located nearby. It is now replaced with Lendrum Place’s signature grid pattern and lots. 92% of the construction took place between 1961 and 1980.
A well-developed road system and the South LRT extension running along Lendrum’s eastern boundary means residents are more connected than ever to the rest of the city, including Downtown. Residents can access the LRT via South Campus or Southgate stations. Even though Lendrum Place is a highly residential neighbourhood, there is plenty of commercial areas nearby. This includes the Southgate Centre mall, and Lendrum Centre, a shopping area with several unique stores including Sunterra Market.
Active person? University student? Someone who commutes downtown? Lendrum Place could be a great fit.
